Gaol Rejects Non-Union Deal

ImageCongratulations to the members at the Old Melbourne Gaol who defeated a proposed non-union agreement that stripped away conditions and only guaranteed a 6 per cent pay rise over 4 years. 80 per cent of staff voted against the proposal.

The original agreement proposed a 3 year agreement with annual 4 per cent increases. The Alliance advised employees of the gaol to vote NO to the inferior non-union agreement. The Alliance will hold meetings in the coming weeks to discuss our next steps.
