Workers Compensation Project For Live Theatre, Orchestras And Bands
Wednesday, 20 July 2005
Workers Compensation Project For Live Theatre, Orchestras And Bands The Alliance, together with the Australian Entertainment Industry Association (AEIA), has received funding from WorkCover for the first stage of a project to review workers compensation management in the areas of Live Theatre, Orchestras and Bands. The objective of the project is to identify the systems used by employers to support staff injured in the course of their work duties and to identify how claims management and return to work schemes could be improved. Members from the industry who wish to provide feedback on this issue should contact David Caple via email at davidcaple@pacific.net.au. The first stage of this project will be a "gap analysis" to identify those areas that are either non compliant with WorkCover requirements, or could be improved in their effectiveness. The funding will be used to engage independent OHS consultant, David Caple & Associates Pty Ltd to consult with employers and employee representatives as well as the insurance companies responsible for workers compensation.
