After months of negotiations, the Alliance has now reached a new collective agreement for dancers at the Australian Ballet. Members have achieved a 5% pay rise for 2008 and in an Australian first, a sabbatical for dancers who have served more than 10 years with the company. The sabbaticals will acknowledge dancers' loyalty and encourage artistic development. The collective agreement will also see wages rise by 5% in 2009 and 4% in 2010 with a superannuation increase to 10%. Broadcasting arrangements are being discussed separately as to not delay finalising the agreement.
