AAP Begins Year With Union-Busting AnticsAustralian Associated Press (AAP), the news agency owned by News Limited, Fairfax Media, WA Newspapers and Rural Press, is the first major media employer trying to bust the Alliance and move all its employees on to individual contracts.  AAP is offering employees a $1000 cash lure to abandon their collective agreement and, instead, sign an individual contract which strips out overtime and other benefits, and will leave people substantially worse off over time. The cash deal is a blatant attempt to induce employees into signing away their rights at work enshrined in their existing collective bargaining agreement which does not expire until June.
