Equity president elected to FIA

The Federation of International Actors (FIA) held its four yearly congress in Toronto this month. Congratulations to Equity president Simon Burke for his election to the six member Presidium, the body that will guide the FIA's work for the next four years.
Simon's election as a vice president of FIA ensures that Australia remains on the FIA Executive. High on the agenda is implementation of the WIPO treaty on performers' copyright and co-ordination of efforts on international co-productions to make sure actors in all jurisdictions are covered by appropriate collective agreements.
