Freelancing for in-flight and international travel publications, freelance writer and photographer Marie Barbieri has been trawling the globe for over 20 years. She has explored the USA, the Caribbean, Italy, the Greek Islands, Portugal, France, Australia and New Zealand. Whilst currently residing in South Australia, she continues to travel to Europe regularly to freelance for UK magazines. Marie's recent contributions have featured in Silverkris (Singapore Airlines' in-flight magazine), Jetstar in-flight magazine, Wanderlust, Australia & New Zealand, Holidays for Couples, Arrivals + Departures, Great Walks and Stamford Life; the guest magazine of the Stamford Hotel group), and she is a regular complementary health columnist for Bicycling Australia. Other publications her work has featured in include Italia!, The Italian,Italy and Fitness First. British-born, Marie spent several years living, working and travelling in Australia, before becoming a citizen. She has an in-depth knowledge of the country, particularly of Sydney and the east coast. Based in Adelaide, she devotes most of her time to freelance projects within South Australia as well as the other states, whilst continuing to travel to Europe to freelance for UK-based publications. Marie has explored most of Australia, New Zealand's North Island, the east, central and west coast of the United States and Hawaii, the Caribbean, Fiji, the Greek islands and Athens, various regions in Italy, France's Verdon Gorge and The Azores; mainly Sao Miguel. Recent travels have had Marie cycling Australia's Gold Coast and hiking in the Flinders Ranges. Marie welcomes commissions on any subject on Australia, New Zealand (the Bay of Islands and Rotorua), Italy (Capri, Parma, Piacenza, Pavia and Lake Garda), The Greek islands (Mykonos, Paxos and Crete), France and Portugal. Marie is also a freelance travel photographer and has extensive photography archives from all of the above destinations, and can provide professional high-resolution images. She has particularly exceptional photography from Australia’s Kangaroo Island, the Flinders Ranges and the Gold Coast. Marie is planning some ideas for guide books, but firstly, will spend time exploring the colours, temperatures and curvatures of Kangaroo Island off the south coast of Australia. She then plans to devote the rest of the year to travels throughout the country, with The Barossa Valley, Clare Valley, Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula, the Fleurieu Peninsula and Tasmania's Bay of Fires region. Also a qualified complementary therapist who ran her own therapy business in the UK, Marie writes in the field of health and complementary therapies. Health publications she has contributed to include: Yoga, Today's Therapist International Trade Journal, Massage magazine and Nature & Health. Marie is available to discuss feature or photography assignments, including words/pictures packages on any of the above subjects.
