Offshore Support For Actors Strike

Offshore Support For Actors Strike Letters of support are pouring in from actors’ unions around the world as Australian Equity members begin their first ever commercials strike. In June the Screen Producers’ Association of Australia (SPAA) decided to terminate the agreement that protects the pay and conditions of performers working on offshore commercials (foreign commercials shot in Australia). Last month 98 per cent of Actors’ Equity members voted in favour of strike action on offshore commercials from midnight August 7 unless an agreement was reached with SPAA.
