The offshore commercials strike currently underway in Australia continues to gather support from far and wide. Last week the International Federation of Actors, which is made up of more than 100 organisations from 70 countries, publicly passed a resolution expressing strong support for striking Australian actors and calling for SPAA to immediately commence negotiations with Equity to reach an agreement. Letters of solidarity continue to pour in from individual performers and performers’ unions in the US, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

The Equity Foundation is offering a rare opportunity for financial NSW Equity members to work with Australia’s leading teacher of audition technique for musical theatre, Queenie van de Zandt. This is a masterclass about auditioning for musical theatre. Queenie and a guest musical director will be offering a five hour format of Queenie’s celebrated weekend masterclass.
