SPAA Refuses To Respond
Friday, 10 July 2009

The Screen Producers’ Association of Australia (SPAA) has so far refused to meet with Equity to discuss the cancellation of the Offshore Commercial Agreement. An email from Equity director Simon Whipp to SPAA head Geoff Brown expressing our desire to meet and negotiate a new agreement, sent on Wednesday, remains unanswered. The National Performers Committee has recommended performers “vote to strike all offshore commercials to be produced on or after 7 August 2009 unless Equity is able to negotiate an agreement with producers to cover this work prior to that date.” Ballots will arrive in Equity members' mail boxes from today. Full ballot details available here.
