If endorsed, to satisfy legislative requirements for certification in the AIRC, the employer will distribute the document to all employees with a further vote by members for final approval to follow after no less than 14 days. The JUST Super Student Journalist of the Year Prize is your big chance to get your best work recognised! The Media, Entertainment & Arts Alliance and Walkley Foundation, with the support of major sponsor JUST Super, have created this exciting development for the next generation of journalists. Launched in 2003, the Student Journalist of the Year competition is open to all tertiary students studying journalism, communications and media related degrees who have not previously worked full time in the media. University Cuts Funding to Communications Law Centre |

On Friday 27 May the University of NSW confirmed that it would no longer fund or accommodate the Communications Law Centre (CLC). The Alliance was greatly disappointed to hear the news and has written to the University’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Mark Wainwright, urging him to reconsider the decision. Over the course of CLC’s 17 years, it has lent invaluable expertise to our many public inquiries, reviews and media campaigns. |

The Alliance has written to SBS requesting management organise a paid meeting of staff and address the issue of representation at the Certified Agreement negotiations. Management has stipulated only four staff delegates can be present at negotiations - an inadequate number to fully represent all member concerns across the company. It is important members attend any future meeting and make their view known. |
