Our members and workers want to build a sustainable film industry now and into the future. To achieve this it is vital that we continue to attract international productions such as "The Wolverine". Our members and names on this petition urge you to legislate the location offset to 30% as part of an Australian Film industry policy.

There has been enormous pressure on our industry to reduce working conditions in order to attract international films. Although this competition has helped make the industry more productive and innovative it has also meant that film crew employment conditions have been eroded over the years.

Our members have been forced to compromise in reducing conditions such as overtime payments for excessive working hours that our international competitors do not recognise. We trust the government not only wants to provide employment opportunities, but also a safe and sustainable industry for the people who make the films.

We urge our Government to increase the location offset to 30% help support a sustainable Australian Film Industry.
