Sydney Dance Improves Offer

Cuts At News Limited

ImageRupert Murdoch yesterday warned of job cuts "across the board" at his Australian operations after News Corporation reported a 30 per cent drop in first quarter profit. The announcement follows persistent reports of staff freezes, cost cutting and one-off redundancy deals, which are often inferior to the redundancy provisions of the collective agreement. News Suburban Negotiations To Begin

ABC Offer Put To A Vote
Monday, 03 November 2008

ImageABC members at all sites will be asked to vote to extend the ABC agreement for 12 months (April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2010) in exchange for a wage increase of 4%. The acceptance of this offer is on basis that the ABC enters into formal negotiations on work level standards, role templates ( ie grading of jobs) and performance management before the end of this year, and an expectation that if inflation exceeds 4% during the period the amount will be topped up.
